A few words of advice for new models:

Journal Entry: Tue Dec 8, 2009, 5:36 AM

I get many questions asked by new models what is TFP? Why do I have to sign a release form, or what do you mean by "Implied Nude"?

So I thought the simplest way to explain it all is to write a blog...

TFP or TFCD is simply a method which allows both the model and photographer to shoot images for their portfolios without exchanging money either way. Click here to read more

Model Release forms are a contract that both the model and photographer sign as an agreement that the model has no objections to the images of the model being used by the photographer. This is not the same as ownership or copyright! click here to read more

There is also a great news article by Neolestat about the subject here, written far more eloquently than I could ever do: [link]

Nude Modelling Terms

  • Implied Nude: means I will not take all my clothes off , perhaps just wear knickers or pasties, but I will allow you to take pictures of me which don’t show any clothing, implying that I am not wearing any.

  • Hidden or Covered Nude: I will allow you to take pictures of me not wearing any actual clothing, but with some sort of opaque drape or prop covering a given area such as nipples or my naughty bits.

  • Sheer: I will allow you to take pictures in which my private areas are to some extent t visible through a transluscent material or mesh top etc.

  • Semi-nude/Topless: I will allow you to take pictures of me in which my breasts and/or possibly my behind are visible.

  • Artistic Nude: I will allow you to take pictures of me while I am not wearing any clothes if they are interestingly framed, strangely posed, or just show partial body parts.

  • Erotic/Fetish nude: I will assume provocative poses and allow you to take pictures of me which draw particular attention to my naughty bits while I am not wearing any clothes but may be in masks, latex or bondage.

  • Adult nude: I will assume sexually explicit poses and allow you to take pictures of me engaging, or suggesting that I am about to engage in sexual acts while I am not wearing any clothes. See further explanation below...

Adult Nude Modeling terms frequently used:

  • UK mag: Fully naked including open leg poses.

  • US mag: As UK mag but includes exposed genitalia.

  • Continental: as US mag but includes finger and/or toy insertions.

  • Girl/girl Soft: Simulated lesbian sex with no insertions.

  • Girl/girl Hard: Lesbian Sex including toys and finger insertions.

  • Boy/girl soft: Involves simulating male/female intercourse and oral sex.

  • Boy/girl hard: Involves all types of full male/female sexual intercourse.

Hope this article has been of some use to new models and even new photographers starting out in the nude and erotic scene.
